Gialova is walkable. Accommodation, tavernas and the main beach are all within a 10-minute walk.
But what makes the area so impressive — Voidokilia, Pylos, Methoni, the lagoon — requires transportation.
Option 1 — Scooter (Best Overall)
For most visitors, renting a scooter is the best transportation decision they will make. It gives you:
- Voidokilia in 10 minutes
- Pylos in 15 minutes
- Methoni in 45 minutes
- Freedom to leave whenever you want, to stay wherever you want
Where to rent: Martin’s Rentals, Gialova main road.
Option 2 — E-Bike (Best for Effortless Exploration)
Same freedom as a scooter, with a bonus: you can do the lagoon route properly — something a scooter is not ideal for.
Where to rent: Martin’s Rentals.
Option 3 — Bike (Best for the Lagoon)
The Gialova–Voidokilia cycling route through the lagoon is flat, scenic, and ideal for a regular bike. If this is your main route, you don’t need anything else.
Where to rent: Martin’s Rentals.
Option 4 — On Foot (Good for the Village)
The village in Gialova is easily walkable. For anything outside the village limits, you will need transportation.
Our Recommendation
Rent a scooter or e-bike for the days of your stay. The freedom it gives you and the quality of the routes are incredible.
